At least four people have died as a result of flooding in northern Vietnam.

At least four people have died and four more are missing as a result of flooding that hit a mountain village in the northern Vietnamese province of Lai Chau. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on July 18.

"At least four people have died and four more are missing after flash flooding hit a mountain village in the northern Vietnamese province of Laichau," the publication says.

According to preliminary estimates, roads, power grids and hundreds of houses were damaged, as well as 238 hectares of crops were flooded.

Tourists and locals are among the dead in Indonesia.

The online newspaper The Paper reported on July 9 that floods in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China had swept away more than 100 animals from the zoo. Among the missing animals are zebras, ostriches, emus, spotted deer, argali, alpacas, peacocks, North American raccoons, porcupines, nutria and parrots of various species.
