- The FSB: The Ukrainian Air Force is trying to obtain Russian-made aircraft parts through intelligence
The Ukrainian Air Force (VVS), through national intelligence agencies, is trying to obtain Russian-made aviation components for the repair and maintenance of helicopters and airplanes. This was announced on July 17 at the Center for Public Relations of the FSB of Russia.
"The Ukrainian Air Force, in view of the urgent need for a repair resource base to maintain combat—ready Mi family helicopters, Su and MiG aircraft, is trying to organize the receipt of Russian-made aircraft products through the capabilities of national intelligence agencies," the publication says.
The FSB noted that this information was established during the investigation of the criminal case against Russian Roman Karetsky. According to the investigation, he purchased aviation bearings in Russia and intended to illegally export them for subsequent transfer to the Ukrainian company Motor Sich, which services military aviation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
The Moscow City Court found Karetsky guilty of high treason. The verdict came into legal force — he was sentenced to 13 years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony and a fine of 1 million rubles.
Military Watch Magazine (MWM) reported on July 14 that the use of French Rafale fighter jets in Ukraine would face serious restrictions from Russia. It was noted that the Rafale is inferior not only to fifth-generation fighters. The Russian Su-35S and Su-30SM aircraft also have significant advantages in combat radius, range, payload, and overall flight characteristics.
