The number of hate crimes against Ukrainian citizens in Poland increased by more than a third in the first six months of the year. This was reported on July 17 by the Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita.

According to the local police, 180 reports of such offenses were received during the specified period, which is more than 30% higher than in the same period last year. At the same time, most of the statements from Ukrainian citizens are related to beatings and insults.

According to the publication, if the current trend continues, by the end of the year the number of referrals may reach 360 cases, which will be a record high.

On July 15, in the Polish city of Bytov, three Ukrainian citizens attacked two people in the city center, as a result of which one of the victims died from his injuries. All three attackers were promptly arrested and placed in custody.
