A resident of the Khabarovsk Territory was sentenced to 14 years for treason

Khabarovsk Regional Court sentenced a 47-year-old local resident to 14 years in a high-security penal colony for treason. This was announced on July 17 by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.

"From February to July 2024, he confirmed his willingness to cooperate, transferred personal data for naturalization and collected information about military products for use against the security of the Russian Federation," the agency said in a publication on the Maks messenger.

The convict initiated contact in October 2023 by sending an email to a foreign consulate requesting political asylum and offered cooperation. In addition to a long term of imprisonment in a penal colony, the court imposed a fine of 400 thousand rubles and restriction of liberty for a period of one and a half years.
