The largest American investor, multibillionaire Warren Buffett, is ending a long—term partnership with the foundation of Bill Gates, one of the founders of Microsoft, amid increased congressional attention to the organization's co—founder's ties with American financier Jeffrey Epstein. The head of Berkshire Hathaway's board of directors met with Gates in Omaha, Nebraska, and discussed his decision with him. Buffett noted that he had not found any information in the congressional audit that went beyond his ideas, and pointed out that Gates eventually ended his relationship with Epstein.

At the same time, Buffett did not completely disown one of the founders of Microsoft, calling the audit findings unpleasant. He also noted that he has no plans to resume donations to the Gates Foundation, to which he has given more than $47 billion over the past two decades.

Buffett said that the foundation of one of the founders of Microsoft earned more money than expected, and he trusts his children to manage his fortune. The billionaire accelerated the transfer of funds to four charities associated with his family, giving them Berkshire shares worth about $ 6 billion.

Buffett plans to transfer his entire share, estimated at about $140 billion, to these organizations over the next eight years. The decision followed the publication by the US Department of Justice of documents that once again drew attention to Gates' ties with Epstein. The foundation of one of the founders of Microsoft has ordered a review of these links and expects it to be completed in the summer.
