Traffic on the M-12 Vostok highway to Tyumen is scheduled to open in December 2026. This was announced on July 16 by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin in a report to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"December. As long as we are on schedule, we have every chance," he said in response to the head of state's question about the completion dates.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, work is also underway in 2026 to expand the M-3 Ukraine highway to six lanes. In addition, the Yuzhno-Lytkarinskaya highway is being prepared for commissioning in the Moscow Region, the project of which is being implemented with the involvement of extra-budgetary funds.

Khusnullin stressed that the road industry is maintaining its momentum. According to him, despite the loss of a month in a number of regions due to late spring, we managed to catch up with all the deadlines, and now work on repairs and new construction is proceeding as planned.

On June 28, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that Russia has a clear long-term plan in the field of construction and infrastructure development, which defines the main areas of work for the coming years. He also added that the priority in the Russian Federation remains the construction of housing, the road network, landscaping and modernization of communal infrastructure.
