The M-12 Vostok highway to Tyumen will open by the New Year
Every year, Russians invest about 15-16 trillion rubles in housing, remaining the main investors in the industry. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin at a meeting with Vladimir Putin on July 16. Preferential programs play a key role.: family mortgages at 6% have proven to be extremely reliable. And the delay on it is less than 1%. Road projects are also being implemented: the M-12 Vostok highway to Tyumen will open soon and the M-3 Ukraine highway will expand to Belarus.
What was discussed at the meeting
The amount of personal funds that Russians annually invest in the purchase of real estate reaches about 15-16 trillion rubles, so the population is the main investor in the construction sector, said Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin. Preferential government programs are the leading driver of demand and the guarantor of market stability. The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the family mortgage at 6%. Despite the challenges, the state fully fulfills all obligations, and people are guaranteed to pay their loans. The President added that in these conditions, the key task of the state remains to protect the interests of Russians — they must receive new housing on time and of the right quality.
The infrastructure is also being tightened behind the housing stock. Road builders have completely caught up with the pace they missed due to the late spring. A key megaproject is planned to be completed by the end of the year: the opening of the M-12 Vostok highway to Tyumen is scheduled for December. The M-3 highway "Ukraine" is expanding to six lanes towards Belarus. The launch of the Yuzhno-Lytkarinskaya road in the Moscow region is also being prepared.
By its 70th anniversary, the construction industry has reached the status of the most powerful driver of the economy. In 1956, the Builder's Day was approved. Today, construction together with related sectors provides the country with more than 20% of GDP and provides jobs for about 17.7% of all employed in the economy (about 13 million people), the Deputy Prime Minister said. The multiplier effect is enormous: every ruble invested in construction brings 1.68 rubles in related fields. Despite external pressure, the industry has grown by 34% in recent years, Khusnullin noted.
Unnecessary administrative barriers are being reduced. If in 2020 the average time for the construction of an apartment building was four and a half years, now it is being built in a little more than three years. The "Infrastructure for Life" project has been launched in the country, covering 2,160 stronghold settlements. The plan to improve the quality of life in them by 30% by 2030 is being implemented without failures. Special attention is paid to the improvement of public spaces. According to Khusnullin, modern embankments, parks and squares remain the most popular request from governors and residents.
