In Algeria, 11 people died in a fire at an orphanage
A fire in an orphanage on the outskirts of the Algerian capital, Algiers, killed 11 people and injured almost 20 others. This was reported by Reuters on July 16.
"A fire broke out in an orphanage in the Mohammadiya district, on the eastern outskirts of the capital. 10 victims received burns of varying severity, and rescue services evacuated five disabled people from an orphanage to a safe place," the agency quoted the local civil protection service as saying.
Work on extinguishing the fire continues, but the identity of the victims, their age and the cause of the fire have not yet been disclosed.
In recent days, heat has set in Algeria, the authors of the material note. Since July 8, Algerian firefighters have extinguished 913 fires across the country.
In India, in the city of Lucknow on June 22, at least 15 people died as a result of a large fire in a three-story commercial building where a training center was located. It was clarified that 14 fire trucks and a hydraulic platform were used to extinguish the fire.
