Showers, thunderstorms and squally winds are possible in the capital region at the end of summer. The chief specialist of the Moscow Meteorological Bureau, Tatyana Pozdnyakova, in an interview with Izvestia, did not rule out the development of weather anomalies in August.

Doctors told us what diagnoses threaten Russians with a sudden change in weather conditions.

According to the expert, powerful cumulus clouds can form in the region, which often become harbingers of thunderstorm activity.

"Showers and thunderstorms are still quite possible in the capital region in August,— said Tatiana Pozdnyakova. — During thunderstorms, as a rule, there is always a strong increase in wind. Therefore, it is impossible to say that August will be without such cataclysms. Another thing is how strong they will be: it's hard to say," the expert emphasized.

The weather forecaster explained that at the current stage, atmospheric processes that form certain extreme phenomena are not yet visible. Because of this, it is premature to make unambiguous forecasts about sudden cold snaps or strong winds. Nevertheless, the likelihood of unsettled weather remains, and residents of the capital region should be prepared for changes.
