Chocolate prices in Russia showed a decrease for the sixth month in a row
Russia has recorded a decrease in chocolate prices for the sixth month in a row, while the cost of confectionery has decreased by almost 2% since the beginning of the year, according to Rosstat data on July 16.
According to official statistics published on the agency's website, if in January 1 kg of chocolate cost customers an average of 1,554.06 rubles, then by June its cost had dropped to 1,527.87 rubles. Thus, in the first half of the year, the overall price tag drop was 1.7%.
The trend towards cheaper sweets has been continuous throughout the current year. In February, the average retail price dropped to 1,549 rubles, in March it dropped to 1,542 rubles, and in April and May it was fixed at around 1,530 rubles per 1 kg.
On July 2, the All-Russian Association of Fishermen announced that chum and sockeye salmon became the cheapest types of fish in Russia in the first half of 2026. It was noted that the cost of chum salmon dropped to 450 rubles per 1 kg, sockeye salmon — to 750 rubles.
