- The Security Council called the opponents' attacks on civilian objects of the Russian Federation futile.
Russia's opponents are attacking civilian infrastructure facilities due to the lack of success in direct confrontation and a general sense of desperation. This was announced on July 16 by Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Yuri Kokov.
"The bet on inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia has failed, and it is becoming more obvious every day. Direct military confrontation does not produce the desired result, which pushes opponents to attack civilian infrastructure. This is not a show of force, this is a show of desperation," he said in an interview with TASS.
Kokov noted that Russia's opponents have moved to a more aggressive use of a set of destabilizing techniques. These include incitement of interethnic and interfaith contradictions, as well as attempts to split society and change the legitimate government. Opponents are trying to recruit the population, especially young people, into a radical environment, the Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation emphasized.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on July 9 that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) had launched a deliberate hunt for civilian scheduled and passenger buses. She recalled that on July 2, near the Krasny Kamen checkpoint on the border with Belarus, a drone struck a tourist bus Minsk – Anapa.
