Nine passenger trains were delayed after derailment in Kama region

Nine passenger trains are running with delays and on modified routes after freight cars derailed on the Kishert — Shumkovo section of the Sverdlovsk Railway in the Perm Region. This was announced on July 16 by the Federal Passenger Company (FPC).

"Due to the restoration work on the Kishert — Shumkovo section of the Sverdlovsk Railway, passenger trains are delayed en route," the Telegram channel says.

According to the company, some trains were diverted through Kuzino, Lysva, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Tagil and Chusovskaya stations. Passengers of trains delayed for more than four hours will be provided with meals at Perm, Yekaterinburg and Shuvakish stations.

As the Central Interregional Investigation Department for Transport (MCT) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia added in the Maks messenger, the cause of the derailment was the erosion of the railway track due to adverse weather conditions. There were no casualties, and train traffic on the section was temporarily suspended.

The investigators are conducting an inspection under the article on violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of railway transport.

In the Perm Region, on July 16, freight train cars derailed on the double–track electrified section of the Kishert - Shumkovo Sverdlovsk Railway. Recovery equipment was sent to the scene to eliminate the consequences.
