Pensioner gave 1.5 million rubles to scammers in Tula
The police in Tula are conducting an investigation into fraud, which resulted in the injury of a 76-year-old pensioner. The man lost 1.5 million rubles.
According to the victim, he was contacted via messenger by a stranger who offered income from exchange activities. The pensioner became interested and transferred a large sum to outside accounts. This is reported by TSN24.
The criminal case was initiated under Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud on an especially large scale").
In the Lipetsk region, a 73-year-old pensioner gave more than 2 million rubles to fraudsters. The scammers convinced the woman that her bank account had been hacked, and she agreed to transfer the money to a courier for safekeeping.
