The road to the airport will be repaired in the Arctic for 340 million rubles
In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, in the Taimyr Dolgan-Nenets District, repairs have begun on the road leading to Alykel Airport. A 5 km section of the highway will be renovated for 340 million rubles.
The money will come from the regional budget. The work is carried out within the framework of the national project "Infrastructure for Life," writes KrasnoyarskMedia news agency with reference to the regional Ministry of Transport.
The road services will eliminate the depths, replacing the soil, and strengthen the slopes with a hydraulic machine. They will renovate the worn asphalt concrete pavement, fill out roadsides, and restore culverts. There will be a new barrier fence and road signs.
It is planned to complete the work this year. The agency clarifies that the highway is characterized by very difficult climatic conditions. In this area, negative temperatures persist for about eight months a year. Cracks, gulfs and precipitation of roadsides appeared on the road, including due to permafrost. The slopes crumbled, pipes and fences deformed.
This highway is an important Arctic highway located in the tundra. It is not connected to the main road network of the region. The road connects the Dudinka seaport with the Alykel Airport and the settlements of the Norilsk Industrial District. This route ensures a stable supply of food, equipment and medicines.
In total, 59 road network facilities are planned to be repaired and 10 bridges put into operation as part of the national project in 2026. About 8.4 billion rubles are allocated for these purposes.
In June, the repair of the overpass through the federal highway R-255 "Siberia" started at the Bogotol bypass in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The project provides for the replacement of previously deformed beams and the repair of the rest, the installation of new ones and the restoration of intermediate supports of the structure. Specialists will also apply new expansion joints, make waterproofing and restore embankments.
