The MAER broadcast the launch of the Soyuz MS-29 on street screens
The Soyuz MS-29 manned transport spacecraft has launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome to the International Space Station. The MAER media holding traditionally held a live broadcast of the launch on media facades throughout Russia. Thanks to this, millions of residents of the country were able to see the launch in real time right on the streets of cities.
The Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle successfully launched from Baikonur. The crew included Roscosmos cosmonauts Peter Dubrov and Anna Kikina, as well as NASA astronaut Anil Menon. According to Roscosmos, the spacecraft was launched into a preset orbit, separated from the third stage of the launch vehicle, and the antennas and solar panels were deployed normally.
On the eve of the launch, the MAER media holding, together with the Defenders of the Fatherland State Foundation and the Committee of Families of Soldiers of the Fatherland, organized an excursion to the museum of the S. P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia for families of veterans of a special military operation. It is Energia that makes the Soyuz spacecraft that carry astronauts to the ISS.
"It is especially valuable for us to receive the families of veterans of our military. We are grateful to these people for their courage and are glad that we can give children the opportunity to touch the history of Russian cosmonautics. Our museum contains unique exhibits — spaceships that have actually been in orbit. When a child sees Gagarin's ship or the spacecraft from which Alexei Leonov first went into outer space, the story becomes vivid. It is such impressions that give rise to dreams, and dreams often become a profession and a life's work," said Elena Chernykh, director of the S. P. Korolev RSC Energia Museum.
More than 40 children and adults got acquainted with the history of Russian cosmonautics, saw legendary spacecraft — from the Belka and Strelka spacecraft to modern Soyuz spacecraft, a model of the Salyut orbital station, as well as other unique exhibits telling about the achievements of the Russian rocket and space industry.
"For more than two years now, together with Roscosmos, we have been showing Russian missile launches in real time to the whole country. During this time, space has become closer to millions of people — historical launches can be seen not only at the cosmodrome or on TV, but also just walking down the street. Such events inspire people. Therefore, on the eve of the launch, we organized an excursion to the museum for the families of its veterans. When a child sees real spaceships with his own eyes, learns the story of great designers and astronauts, the dream becomes more real. Perhaps such meetings will one day bring some of today's schoolchildren to the space industry," said Konstantin Mayor, owner and CEO of the MAER media holding.
