A fisherman who had been wandering in the forest for nine days was rescued on Sakhalin

A search operation to rescue an elderly fisherman who had been lost in the taiga for nine days has been successfully completed on Sakhalin. This was reported on July 15 in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Sakhalin region.

"An exhausted man was found on the left bank of the Pilevka River, a kilometer from the place where he left the car," the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region told Maks.

The elderly man disappeared on July 6 in the area of the village of Pilvo and all this time he was trying to find a way out on his own, cutting his way through a dense forest area. Rescuers from the Polyakov Ministry of Emergency Situations, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, representatives of fish protection and relatives of the missing took part in large-scale search activities.

The pensioner was found by his neighbors, who joined the search a kilometer from the car he had left. After the victim was found, the Ministry of Emergency Situations evacuated him through difficult terrain and handed him over to the paramedics.

On June 26, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Stavropol Territory reported that the search continued for a girl who allegedly drowned in the Podkumok River. Employees of the department, together with rescuers and volunteers, examined the left bank of the river in several areas, including territories near Pyatigorsk, the village of Konstantinovskaya, as well as the villages of Goryachevodsky and Svobody.

On July 14, the girl's relatives reported that her search had been going on for three weeks. Search and rescue operations were carried out in the area of Georgievsk and Yessentuki. The work of volunteers and specialists was complicated by adverse weather conditions. As the relatives of the missing woman pointed out, the river is very turbulent.
