Starting from September 1, Russian stores will be required to monitor product quality more closely due to the introduction of automatic fines for the sale of expired goods. This was announced on July 15 by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT, operator of the Honest Sign labeling system). Mikhail Dubin.

"From September 1, auto fines will affect those product groups where there is an expiration date, primarily food products. <...> And for all product groups where an expiration date is provided, this is the sale of expired goods," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The control mechanism assumes that the labeling system will record the fact of sale at the checkout, bypassing the current licensing regime. Based on this data, a draft resolution on the violation will be formed, which will be sent to the regulatory authority. After signing, the document will be sent to the organization's personal account on the Gosuslugi portal for subsequent charging of a fine.

Additionally, Dubin noted that Roszdravnadzor had taken the initiative to extend the practice of automatic fines to the pharmaceutical industry.

German Zverev, President of the All-Russian Association of Fishermen, said on July 12 that Russian fishermen could soon start harvesting and supplying fresh tuna to the domestic market, including restaurants and shops. According to the draft order of the Ministry of Agriculture, the quota for tuna fishing in the East Sakhalin subzone will be set for 2027, which will allow the first trial batches to appear in a year.
