If an employee has at least eight years of service, they are entitled to sick leave in the amount of 100% of their average daily earnings. Igor Balynin, an associate professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, told about this on July 15.

"The amount of temporary disability benefits is 60% of the average daily earnings with insurance experience of up to five years, 80% — from five to eight years, 100% — for eight years or more," Balynin said in an interview with TASS.

The expert cited calculations according to which, with an average daily salary of 2.5 thousand rubles, the amount of payment per day will be 1.5 thousand rubles for those whose experience does not exceed five years. Employees with five to eight years of experience in a similar situation will receive 2 thousand rubles, and with more than eight years of experience, the benefit will be equal to full earnings — 2.5 thousand rubles.

The specialist emphasized that the insurance record is accumulated exclusively during official employment. In this regard, he recommended always rejecting employer offers that involve receiving salaries in envelopes.

Alexander Yuzhalin, head of the legal practice at SuperJob, said on July 12 that an employee can get sick leave without being ill if they need to take care of a sick child. He noted that medical organizations most often issue a disability certificate (or sick leave) in case of injury or illness of the employee himself.
