Russia and the United States have agreed to complete the operation of the ISS by the end of 2030

Russia and the United States have developed a joint program that involves completing the flight of the International Space Station (ISS) at the end of 2030. This was announced on July 14 in the secretariat of First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov following his working meeting with NASA Chief Jared Isaacman.

"In particular, issues related to the controlled de—orbiting of the International Space Station were considered, and a joint program was developed to complete the station's flight by the end of 2030," Manturo said.

In addition to the program of launching the station from orbit, the parties discussed the prospects for cooperation on national orbital projects. The Russian side declared its readiness to discuss with NASA mechanisms for mutual assistance in case of emergency situations at future stations.

The day before, the head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Bakanov, and the head of NASA, Jared Isaakman, held a meeting at the Baikonur cosmodrome. The state corporation clarified that Isaakman's visit was the first visit to Baikonur by the head of the American aerospace Agency in eight years.

On the same day, a rocket carrying the Soyuz MS-29 manned spacecraft launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome and headed for the ISS. The expedition will last 261 days. During this time, the specialists will conduct 38 scientific experiments and go into outer space twice.
