A municipal emergency mode has been introduced in the city of Irbit, Sverdlovsk region. This was announced on July 14 by the mayor of the city Nikolay Yudin.
"A meeting of the emergency situations commission was held with the participation of rescuers, law enforcement officers, specialists from institutions and enterprises of the city involved in ensuring the safety of citizens. The decision taken is that a municipal emergency mode will be introduced in the city from 15:00," he wrote on VKontakte.
The water level in the Nitse River reached 741 cm, exceeding the dangerous mark, the mayor noted. An additional temporary accommodation center is being deployed for residents, rescuers and two boats have been sent to the settlement.
During the entire flood period, 525 private houses and more than 5.1 thousand household plots were flooded in 25 municipalities. Communication with 23 settlements was disrupted, the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
On June 23, the main directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Orenburg region reported that 188 residential buildings and 361 household plots were flooded as a result of heavy rains and rising river levels. According to the ministry, 93 people, including 12 children, were evacuated from the flood zone. Residents are staying with relatives and in temporary accommodation facilities. During the day, water left 14 residential buildings in three settlements.
