Rescuers have been searching for 17-year-old student Alice, who disappeared on the Podkumok River, in the Stavropol Territory for almost three weeks. This was announced on July 14 by the girl's relatives on the Instagram social network (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

The incident occurred on June 24 after the girl went swimming with her friend. The students got caught in a strong current, which they could not cope with.

Alice's friend managed to get ashore on her own, but the girl herself was carried away by the water. Search and rescue operations were carried out in the area of Georgievsk and Yessentuki. The work of volunteers and specialists was complicated by adverse weather conditions. As the relatives of the missing woman pointed out, the river is very turbulent.

On June 26, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Stavropol Territory reported that the search continued for a girl who allegedly drowned in the Podkumok River. Employees of the department, together with rescuers and volunteers, examined the left bank of the river in several areas, including territories near Pyatigorsk, the village of Konstantinovskaya, as well as the villages of Goryachevodsky and Svobody.
