In the Urals, a family of three died in a cellar
In the Urals, in the village of Bulanash, Artyomovsky district, a family of three died in a cellar due to lack of oxygen. This was announced on July 14 on the website of the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sverdlovsk region.
The bodies of the couple and their adult daughter were discovered on the evening of July 11. According to preliminary data, the daughter went down to the cellar first, followed by the mother, then the father tried to help them, but also lost consciousness.
"With a high degree of probability, this is a fatal combination of circumstances. The village of Bulanash is located in a swampy area with groundwater and gas accumulations. Due to the long rains, the groundwater squeezes out the gas mixture. The gas service specialists found that the concentration of harmful substances was exceeded in the cellar," said Valery Gorelykh, head of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sverdlovsk Region.
He reminded that it is necessary to ventilate the room before going down to the basement. A criminal case has been opened under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence to two or more persons").
In March, two people died from carbon monoxide poisoning in the Tabasaran region of Dagestan. It was clarified that, previously, the cause of the leak was a failed valve on a gas boiler.
