Over the past day, 327 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 34 people were killed and 408 injured. This was reported to Izvestia on July 14 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

As a result of 65 accidents involving pedestrians, four people were killed and 60 others were injured. Eight children were among the injured, one of whom was injured at a pedestrian crossing, and seven more were outside its area of operation. Of the total number of pedestrian incidents, 23 occurred at pedestrian crossings and 42 occurred outside their area of operation.

21 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which one person was killed, and 31 more road users, including one minor, required medical attention. Nine bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers.

In addition, over the past day, 64 accidents involving minors were registered on the roads of Russia, as a result of which five children were killed, and 67 young road users were injured, including 36 passengers and seven motor transport drivers.

In the Rostov region, on the 861st km of the M-4 Don federal highway, a passenger car driver collided with a bus traveling in the opposite direction, after which he lost control and crashed into a barrier fence. As a result of the accident, a six-month-old girl was killed, who was in the back seat in a child restraint and wearing a seat belt.

In the Tyumen region, in the village of Isetskoye, an eight-year-old boy was hit by a car driver who suddenly ran into the roadway unaccompanied by an adult because of an oncoming vehicle outside a pedestrian crossing. The child died from his injuries.

In the Ulyanovsk region, on the 129th km of the Alekseevskoye - Vysoky Kolok highway, the driver of a passenger car did not give the truck an advantage in driving when leaving the secondary road onto the main road. The impact sent the truck off the road and overturned. The accident killed the driver of a passenger car and three of its passengers, including two children aged ten and 15 years. The truck driver was injured and was hospitalized.

In Bashkiria, on the 126th km of the Magnitogorsk -Ira highway, a passenger car driver drove into oncoming traffic in a prohibited place and collided with a station wagon moving towards him. As a result of the car accident, both drivers were killed, as well as two passengers of the station wagon, including a seven-year-old girl who was in the back seat and was not wearing a seat belt. Another three-year-old passenger of the station wagon, who was transported in a child restraint but was also not wearing seat belts, was injured and hospitalized.

The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds drivers that the majority of traffic accidents with serious consequences occur due to traffic violations: exceeding a safe speed, entering oncoming traffic, not following the order of travel and inattentiveness at the wheel. Every maneuver must be carefully thought out and safe for all road users, the agency emphasizes.

The death rate in road accidents is planned to be reduced by one and a half times by 2030.

"Special attention should be paid to the transportation of children. Parents are required to use child restraints and seat belts in strict accordance with the age, height and weight of the child, and before starting to move, be sure to check whether they are properly secured. Even the most modern child safety seat will not be able to protect a small passenger if the child is not strapped in. Every trip, regardless of its duration, should begin with checking that all passengers in the car are securely fastened with seat belts," said Police Colonel Anton Belan, Deputy head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of Child traffic Injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

On the same day, four people died in Tatarstan as a result of an accident involving a passenger car and a tractor. According to preliminary data, the Lada Granta driver did not choose a safe speed and collided with a tractor and trailer moving ahead.
