The court fined journalist Agalakova for violating the law on foreign agents
The Savelovsky Court of Moscow imposed an administrative fine of 50,000 rubles in absentia on journalist Zhanna Agalakova (included in the register of foreign agents of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation) for violations of the law on foreign agents. This was reported to Izvestia on July 14 by the court's press service.
Agalakova was found guilty of committing an administrative offense under Part 2 of Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the procedure for the activity of a foreign agent").
Agalakova was last fined for violating the same article in November last year. The court imposed an administrative penalty of 30,000 rubles on her.
The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation added Agalakova to the register of foreign agents on February 21, 2025. The ministry explained that she was involved in the dissemination of materials by foreign agents, false information about decisions taken by Russian public authorities, and also opposed a special military operation in Ukraine.
