Arpine Soghoyan, who called Pashinyan a "thief of the Motherland," spoke about her dismissal

Obstetrician-gynecologist Arpine Soghoyan, who was fired after calling Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan a "thief of the Motherland," said she did not regret her words and intended to appeal the employer's decision in court. She said this in an interview with Izvestia on July 14.

"I accidentally found out that the Prime Minister is going to visit our district. The meeting was supposed to take place right outside our house, and I couldn't miss the opportunity to meet with him and tell him everything that was on my mind. I went there consciously, knowing exactly where I was going and what I was going to say. I had no other choice but to take this opportunity to look him in the eye and tell him what I thought of him. I called him a "thief of the Motherland," Soghoian said.

According to her, she was denied access to the premiere three times, and it was only with great difficulty that she managed to get closer. After she said her words, Pashinyan started shouting, waving his arms and pushing. 40 minutes after the incident, she was reprimanded, and then for two months she was persuaded to resign on her own. As a result, she received an official reduction notice. The reason given was the introduction of a universal health insurance system and a reduction in the number of patients.

Soghoyan considers these arguments illogical and not in accordance with the law, since only she received the notification, and her colleagues were ready to reduce their rates in order to save her workplace. The doctor also said that she already has job offers, and she does not regret what she has done, calling the loss of her job not a tragedy against the background of the irreparable losses that the country has experienced. Soghoyan intends to appeal her dismissal in court.

Armine Soghoian's daughter Tatev reported on May 19 that her mother acted out of motives to inform the Armenian politician about the consequences of the "defeatist" policy of the authorities. She also said that the hospital where her mother worked as an obstetrician-gynecologist had received instructions to dismiss the woman. According to Soghoyan, they do not have the paper itself in their hands, but she assumed that the decision would be executed through several fictitious reprimands to the doctor.
