The artist was swept away by the current during a flood in the village of Kyn in the Perm region. This was reported to Izvestia on July 13 by the girl's mother Elena.

The incident occurred on July 10. After heavy rains, the rivers overflowed their banks and flooded the village. According to Elena, the water arrived at their house very quickly. At that moment, she was with her daughter and the dog.

"First, our porch was demolished, then the rubble at the bathhouse. The stove crackled, the floor heaved. We urgently packed the necessary things, headed for the exit, it happened in a few minutes," said Elena.

However, the attempt to evacuate failed — the flood of water washed away the shore under the house, and a powerful wave swept two women and a dog right off the threshold.

"I miraculously got out. The dog came after a while, but the daughter was missing. They searched for her using drones, and now they will search the coastal area around 5 km by boat. But the water keeps coming, and the situation remains difficult," Elena added.

She noted that the girl had previously lived in St. Petersburg, and then moved to the Urals. In the summer, the artist came to the village of Kyn to go hiking and paint.

On July 4, the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Astrakhan Region reported that a 13-year-old boy was swept away by a current while swimming in the village of Cheryomukha in the Krasnoyarsk region. Attempts to pull the boy out of the water were unsuccessful.
