The Ministry of Industry and Trade has expanded the list of cars for taxis again
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has added new localized models to the list of vehicles approved for use as passenger taxis. This was announced on July 13 by the Public Council for Taxi Development with reference to the relevant document.
The Russian Atom electric car, which was commissioned by the Moskvich plant, and the Kaliningrad-built Jetour X70 Plus crossover were added to the list. The Atom, taking into account the state subsidy, costs 3 million 055 thousand rubles, and the Jetour X70Plus costs from 2 million 590 thousand rubles.
The updated list of localized vehicles approved for use as passenger taxis now includes 30 car models.
The Public Council for Taxi Development hopes that the list of localized vehicles will continue to expand.
"The wider the choice of such vehicles, the easier it will be for carriers to update fleets, comply with legal requirements and ensure the availability of taxi services for passengers," the Council noted.
On June 23, a bill was submitted to the State Duma, which proposes not to extend taxi localization requirements to vehicles equipped exclusively with an electric power plant. As noted in the explanatory note, the initiative will reduce gasoline consumption in the country and smooth out seasonal peaks in fuel consumption.
