On July 12, the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Russia completed accepting documents from political parties to certify the lists of candidates for the election of deputies of the State Duma (DG) of the IX convocation.

Acceptance of documents ended at 18:00 Moscow time. After the deadline expires, the CEC does not accept applications from parties.

In total, 11 political associations submitted documents. Among them are five parliamentary parties — United Russia, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Liberal Democratic Party, New People and Fair Russia, as well as six non—parliamentary parties - the Party of Pensioners, the Party of Direct Democracy, Yabloko, the Communists of Russia, Rodina and the Greens.

At the time of publication, the CEC had already certified the lists of candidates provided by the Liberal Democratic Party, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, United Russia, New People, Yabloko and the Pensioners' Party.

In addition, the reception of documents from self-nominated candidates in single-mandate districts has been completed. A total of 80 candidates were nominated in this order.

"We remind you, colleagues, that we have 80 self-nominated candidates. The acceptance of documents from self-nominated candidates has ended, and there will be no more. 80 people are self—nominated candidates," Nikolai Bulaev, deputy head of the Central Election Commission, said at the meeting.

The elections of deputies of the State Duma of the IX convocation this year will be held for three days — on September 18, 19 and 20.

Mikhail Mamonov, director of political Research at the VTsIOM Analytical Center, said on July 2 that about half of the Russians surveyed were aware of the upcoming September elections. He also noted that 56% of all respondents and 64% of respondents planning to vote have already decided on the party they intend to vote for.

On June 17, the CEC approved the dates of voting in the State Duma. As a result, it will be held from September 18 to 20, 2026. It is expected that this time more than 1.6 thousand young Russians will be able to vote for the first time. According to the head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, her office is already taking all necessary measures to ensure their comfort. She stressed that the Central Election Commission will do everything possible to provide residents of new regions with the opportunity to participate in voting.
