Demand for crossovers and SUVs with mileage increased by 25%

Demand for crossovers and SUVs with mileage in the first half of 2026 increased by 25% compared to the same period last year. Avito Auto experts informed Izvestia about this on July 13.

Renault (40%), Nissan (35%) and Lexus (33%) recorded the largest growth in demand among the brands. The Korean brands Kia and Hyundai also showed high dynamics — 32% and 30%, respectively.

In terms of specific models, the Nissan X-Trail showed a noticeable increase — demand for it increased by 44%. Renault Duster (42%), Volkswagen Tiguan (40%), Nissan Qashqai (39%), Mitsubishi Outlander (38%), Mazda CX-5 (38%), Hyundai ix35 (37%), Kia Sorento (37%), Hyundai Tucson (36%) and Lexus RX (34%).

The most popular model on the secondary market was the domestic Lada 4x4 (Niva), followed by the Chevrolet Niva. The top 5 also includes Toyota RAV4, Kia Sportage and BMW X5. Completing the top ten most sought-after models are Renault Duster, Volkswagen Tiguan, Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and Mitsubishi Outlander.

The average price of a car for the first six months was 2.3 million rubles. Some models have recorded a decrease in the average price. Hyundai Tucson has the most significant "discount" (-6.2%, up to 1.8 million rubles). This is followed by Lada Niva Legend (-5%, up to 926 thousand rubles), Chevrolet Niva (-5%, up to 471 thousand rubles), Nissan X-Trail (-5%, up to 1.4 million rubles) and Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (-4%, up to 3.5 million rubles).

On July 2, Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, said that over the past 10 years, average prices for new cars in Russia have more than doubled — by 107%. During the same period, the average cost of a used car increased 2.6 times, by 162%.
