The architectural appearance of the new medical college in Skolkovo has been approved

A modern medical college will appear in Skolkovo. The architectural appearance of the building has already been approved, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on his blog channel in the Maks messenger.

It will be a modern technological complex with an area of 55,000 square meters, one of the largest in Moscow, Sobyanin said in his blog. More than 5,000 students will study at the college in four of the most sought-after areas: nursing, medical practice, obstetric practice, and orthopedic dentistry.

"The proximity to the Innovation Center will allow students and teachers to work directly with the country's leading scientific and technological teams," Sobyanin said. He noted that the large clinics located in Skolkovo, including the new medical and diagnostic complex of the Moscow City Oncological Hospital No. 62, will become the base for medical practice.

Students will be provided with the most thoughtful and high-tech environment, Sobyanin stressed. The college will be equipped with a large number of modern simulators, workshops and laboratories in chemistry, physics and biology. Information technology classrooms are being adapted for online formats and distance learning.

The central part is designed in the shape of a cube with a stepped spatial structure. According to the mayor, this will add momentum and volume. The facade will be made of light large-format porcelain stoneware, decorative metal and panoramic glazing. The right wing will become almost transparent due to stained glass windows, and the left wing will be executed in a restrained style with strict vertical lines, Sobyanin said.
