The former head of UAZ became the head of the Sollers Alabuga company
Alexey Spirin, who previously headed the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, has been appointed CEO of Sollers Alabuga LLC. This was reported on July 9 by the company's press service.
In his new position, Spirin will focus on managing the company's operations. At the same time, he will retain the functions of Deputy General Director of PJSC Sollers for production and product quality.
Alexey Spirin, a graduate of Tolyatti Polytechnic University, joined the Sollers Group in 2008. He held the positions of Director of Production and Executive Director of the group's plants in Yelabuga and Naberezhnye Chelny. Since 2019, he has been in charge of UAZ's operations as Executive Director, and since 2023 he has become CEO.
Alexey Matasov, who has served as CEO of Sollers Alabuga since 2023, will focus on leading promising industrial projects of the company in his current position as Deputy General Director of PJSC Sollers for infrastructure work and new industrial projects, the statement said.
The Sollers Alabuga plant, located in Yelabuga (Republic of Tatarstan), produces a commercial line of Sollers brand cars. In addition, the company continues to actively prepare for the launch of the updated version of the Senat sedan.
UAZ announced on June 25 that it was conducting certification tests of the updated Patriot SUV. The car will receive a two-liter diesel engine with a capacity of 136 hp of domestic production and an electromechanical transfer case with a washer control. A new six-speed manual transmission, also available in Russia, will be combined with the engine.
