Alexander Kapustin, an expert in the field of men's style and founder of the premium men's clothing brand Cerca Trova, told Izvestia on July 10 how to maintain comfort and at the same time look stylish.
According to the expert, the main mistake is trying to fight the heat by choosing clothes that are as open as possible. It is much more important to choose things from the right materials and a loose fit.
"Many people believe that the smaller the fabric, the more comfortable it is. In practice, natural materials and proper planting are much more important. A loose linen shirt with long sleeves feels more comfortable than a tight—fitting T-shirt made of dense synthetics," Kapustin emphasized.
The basis of the summer wardrobe is linen, cotton and modern blended fabrics with a high content of natural fibers. They allow air to pass through better, help the body cool down naturally and maintain a feeling of comfort throughout the long day. The expert advises paying special attention to the color scheme.
"In hot weather, light and natural shades work better: milk, sand, beige, olive, light gray. They heat up less in the sun and make it easy to combine things without complicated stylistic solutions," the stylist noted.
You should not completely abandon the bright elements of the wardrobe. According to the expert, just one accent detail is enough — for example, add a bright scarf or shirt with an expressive print, which can be combined with calm monochrome trousers.
Another common mistake is to think of a summer wardrobe as a set of things exclusively for vacation.
"Clothes should work equally well in the city, in the office, and while traveling. If the budget is limited, it is better to start with high—quality linen trousers or a versatile shirt — these are the things that will be used most often and will form the basis of most summer looks," concluded Kapustin.
Stylist Kristina Palyutkina spoke about the main men's trends of 2026 on June 16. She noted that this year they will combine intelligence, geometry and practicality. One of the most popular trends will be the "nerd-chic" style, based on the image of intelligent negligence. He is characterized by shirts with ties, linen knee-length shorts, loafers, and thick-rimmed glasses.
