Life-size mammoth sculpture to be installed in Chita

A life-size sculpture of a baby mammoth will appear at the final stop of route No. 2 Sukhotino in Chita. Its construction has already begun.

The regional Ministry of Science told ChitaMedia news agency that this image has become a symbol of the Trans-Baikal Territory.

The figure will be made the central element of the entrance group. Its height is 3.5 m, and its length from trunk to tail is about 6 m. A rock massif will appear next to the mammoth sculpture. The territory will be set up.

The authors of the project will allow you to approach the baby mammoth, take pictures against its background and hug its tusks.

Earlier it was reported that a deer sculpture was restored in Chita. Traces of bullets and axe blows were found on the statue. The restoration was carried out by sculptor Viktor Istomin and his team. They removed numerous defects and damages from the aluminum body. Some of them could not be removed during the previous renovation in the early 2000s.
