Russian fencer Andrey Solovyov died at the age of 19 in Ramenskoye, Moscow region, as a result of a preliminary accident. This was reported by law enforcement agencies on July 8.
"Andrey Solovyov, a 19-year-old rapier player, was killed in Ramenskoye. He fell into a well. Previously, it was an accident," the source told TASS.
A preliminary investigation was launched into the incident. Currently, law enforcement officers are interviewing people who saw Solovyov that day.
It is known that the deceased athlete was the bronze medalist of the championship of the Moscow region in foil fencing among juniors.
