Erdogan again proposed Turkey as a platform for negotiations on Ukraine
Turkey is ready to bring the parties to the conflict in Ukraine back together at the negotiating table and will continue to make efforts for a diplomatic settlement. This was stated on July 8 by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a press conference after the NATO summit.
"Today I want to appeal again: no one will lose from a just peace. We once again declare our readiness to reconvene the parties in Turkey," Erdogan said.
He also noted that from the very beginning of the Ukrainian conflict, Turkey has advocated diplomatic means to resolve differences between the parties.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on July 5 that Russia remains committed to a diplomatic settlement of the conflict in Ukraine and hopes that the European Union will not derail these efforts. He also added that Moscow hopes for the continuation of Washington's mediation in the framework of the negotiation process.
