Poland denied Budanov's words about preparations for escalation towards Kiev

The comments of Kirill Budanov, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine (listed in the Russian Federation as a terrorist and extremist), about a possible escalation of tension between Warsaw and Kiev are irresponsible and erroneous. This was announced on July 8 by the head of the Polish National Security Bureau, Bartosz Grodecki.

"I consider this irresponsible and completely unnecessary from the point of view of Polish-Ukrainian relations. If <...> Budanov claims this, he is deeply mistaken," the Polsat News channel quotes him as saying.

Grodetsky added that Budanov is trying to shift responsibility for the scandal to the Polish side, and his words indicate "escalation factors from Ukraine."

Budanov said on July 7 that the peak of the scandal between Warsaw and Kiev, which broke out against the background of Ukraine's glorification of the UPA (Ukrainian Insurgent Army, an extremist organization banned in the Russian Federation) "more to come." According to him, Poland is allegedly preparing "immature escalatory steps" on the eve of the anniversary of the Volyn massacre.

At the same time, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk noted on July 4 that Warsaw expects Kiev to take the first step after it began to glorify Nazi criminals.
