The Ministry of Education has adjusted the workload for elementary school students
Starting from September 1, the amount of academic workload for first— and fourth-grade students will change in Russia. This became known on July 8 from a document of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
According to the updated standards, the total volume of classroom classes for elementary school students for all four years of study should be within the range of 2,966 to 3,305 academic hours, RIA Novosti reports.
For comparison, under the previous rules, this range was wider: the minimum threshold for academic time was 2,954 academic hours, and the maximum limit was 3,345 hours.
As it became known yesterday, in Russia, from the new school year, first grade students are exempt from homework. At the same time, the head of Rosobrnadzor, Anzor Muzaev, also said on June 7 that it was necessary to change the format of homework in Russian schools so that artificial intelligence could not perform it. The head of the regulator called artificial intelligence a challenge for school and higher education.
