The provocative actions of NATO countries, which consist in assisting Kiev in launching attacks on Russian territory, may force the Russian Federation to take retaliatory actions. This was announced on July 7 by Glenn Diesen, professor at the University of Southeastern Norway, on the social network X.

"NATO's weapons, military planning, intelligence, target selection, and contractors are being used to strike deeper into Russia until Moscow feels it has no choice but to respond. Our political leaders dragged us into a conflict against Russia without discussion or debate," he said.

According to the expert, if such provocations are followed by a retaliatory strike, Western countries will declare that it was "unprovoked."

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on July 7 that on the eve of the NATO summit in Ankara, some states had made clearly confrontational statements. He added that conclusions about the statements can be drawn when news about specific meetings of the leaders of the countries and the documents adopted at the summit arrive from Ankara.
