The ship of the Northern Fleet "Severomorsk" returned to the base from a long trip

The large anti-submarine ship Severomorsk completed the tasks of a long-range cruise and returned to the main base. This was announced on July 7 on the website of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Navy.

The welcoming ceremony was attended by representatives of the command, colleagues, as well as relatives and friends of the sailors. Vice Admiral Oleg Shastov, Commander of the Kola Flotilla of the heterogeneous forces of the Northern Fleet, received a report on the fulfillment of the assigned tasks. He congratulated the crew on their successful return home.

The commander noted that the campaign took place in conditions of increasing tension in the international political situation. According to him, it required high professionalism, responsibility and endurance from the sailors.

The crew of the Severomorsk spent more than 200 days at sea and covered a distance of more than 35,000 miles. During the cruise, the sailors accompanied civilian vessels and ensured their safety. All the tasks assigned to the ship were completed in full.

The ship Akademik Makeev has been under construction for more than ten years due to the need to replace imported systems with domestic ones.

The day before, the Baltic Fleet training ship Perekop set sail from Baltiysk and embarked on a long-range navigation cruise to conduct naval practice with cadets from higher naval educational institutions of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The training program includes practicing navigational disciplines, navigating a ship in a difficult navigational environment, and duplicating the duties of watch officers.
