The public patriotic project "Hero's Route" starts in Yaroslavl on July 14.

On July 14, the public patriotic project "Hero's Route" starts in Yaroslavl. His first hero will be Mikhail Nikolaevich Peymer, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War. On his personal initiative, a trip to the cities of Russia and Belarus related to his military biography will be organized.

The idea of the project began with the desire of the veteran himself — to walk again through the places where important pages of his life and service took place. Mikhail Nikolaevich Peimer wanted to return to the cities associated with his frontline history, honor the memory of his comrades and meet with young people to personally tell them about the war, Victory and responsibility to the country.

This initiative was supported by social activists. This is how the Hero's Route project appeared, a living memory route centered on the personal story of a man who went through the war.

Mikhail Nikolaevich Peymer is a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, senior lieutenant, battery commander of the 24th Guards Regiment. He participated in the defense of Stalingrad, the liberation of Belarus, Lithuania and East Prussia, and was awarded the medals "For Military Merit", "For Courage" and the Order of the Red Star.

The first "Hero's Route" will pass through Yaroslavl, Yartsevo (Smolensk region), Smolensk, Minsk and Brest. For Mikhail Nikolaevich, these cities are associated with preparations for Operation Bagration and the liberation of Belarus.

"I've wanted to return to these places for a long time. Not just to remember the past, but to bow to those who stayed there forever and talk to the young guys. It is important for them to hear that behind every victory there were people, their choice, their pain, their loyalty to the country. As long as we can talk about it, the memory is alive," Mikhail Nikolaevich Peymer shared.

During the trip, it is planned to visit memorable places, lay flowers, meet with representatives of youth and volunteer organizations, and communicate with residents of the cities along the route. The route will be accompanied by photos and videos to preserve the memories and words of the veteran and convey this story to a wide audience.

The Hero's Route is implemented within the framework of grant support from the Ministry of Social Communications and Scientific and Technological Development of the Yaroslavl Region, as well as with the support of the DobroFON charity program and the regional public organization People's University.
