- Transformation of the energy industry of the Russian Federation to be discussed on Sakhalin
The 30th anniversary Sakhalin Energy International Far Eastern Energy Forum, supported by the Roscongress Foundation, will be held in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk on July 30-31. The central event of the business program will be the plenary session "Offshore projects: drivers of growth in the new reality".
The discussion focused on the transformation of the industry over the 30 years of the Sakhalin Oil and Gas International Conference, international cooperation in the fuel and energy complex of the Far East with the SCO and BRICS countries, as well as issues of gasification, technological autonomy and the development of the Sakhalin Center for Oil and Gas Production and refining.
The key topic of the Forum will be the implementation of the Sakhalin-3 project, a strategically important project for the Sakhalin Region to increase gas production. The Sakhalin-3 resource base is also being considered for the construction of a fuel production plant. The new production facility will provide aviation kerosene to the regional airline, fuel to the residents of the region, and will also increase export potential through the production of naphtha. The implementation of these projects will give a significant impetus to the development of the region's economy.
"The Sakhalin Energy Forum is not just a business platform. This is a conversation about what the energy image of the Far East will be in the coming decades. And I am convinced that our region has every reason to become a place where a modern agenda for the development of the energy industry is being formed," commented Valery Limarenko, Governor of the Sakhalin Region.
The Sakhalin Energy Far Eastern Energy Forum is being held for the thirtieth time, a landmark event for the entire industry. The program includes special events dedicated to this date, including honoring industry veterans who stood at the origins of offshore projects and made an invaluable contribution to the development of the region's energy sector.
"The 30th anniversary Sakhalin Energy Forum is a landmark event demonstrating the scale of transformation of the entire energy industry in the country. The forum will be held with the support of the Roscongress Foundation, as a visiting venue for the WEF. The event serves as a strategic center where technological sovereignty and Russia's new export potential are being formed through the implementation of projects such as Sakhalin-3. The discussion of offshore production, integration into the economies of the SCO and BRICS countries, as well as the development of transport corridors in the Asia—Pacific region emphasize Sakhalin's role as a key driver of growth not only for the region, but also for the entire economy of the Far East and Russia," said Igor Pavlov, First Deputy Director of the Roscongress Foundation and Director of the WEF.
The Forum will also include thematic sessions on the development of transport corridors and logistics in the Asia-Pacific region, deep processing of hydrocarbons, staffing of the industry, technological sovereignty and localization of oil and gas services. A special focus will be placed on the application of unmanned systems in industry and energy.
The XI Eastern Economic Forum will be held on September 1-4 at the Far Eastern Federal University campus in Vladivostok. The WEF is organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation.
