The nighttime attempt by militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to attack the Moscow region with the help of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has become the largest in the last two years. This was reported by TASS on July 7, citing data from the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.

In total, 430 Ukrainian drones were eliminated in the Moscow region, 36 of them on approach to Moscow. Three days earlier, Sobyanin, as the agency recalled, had reported over 200 liquidated apparatuses, and on June 18— over 190.

As TASS added, on March 11, 2025, Sobyanin also reported on the most massive drone attack on Moscow. At that time, 74 drones were detected and intercepted on approach to the capital alone, and more than a hundred more on its various borders.

On the same day, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the elimination of 452 drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the territory of the country overnight. It was noted that the devices were intercepted between 20:00 Moscow time on July 6 and 8:00 Moscow time on July 7. During this period, drones were detected over the territories of the Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Volgograd, Vladimir, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Orel, Rostov, Ryazan, Smolensk, Tambov and Tula regions, as well as over the territories of the Republic of Crimea, Krasnodar Territory and the waters of the Azov and Black Seas.
