Approximately 260 dishes are planned to be included in the unified state standard for Russian cuisine, and 133 unique recipes have already successfully passed the approval procedure. Russian restaurateurs, chefs, and historians are working together to create this list. This was announced on June 7 by Roman Chekushov, State Secretary and Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

"We planned to create a certain set of dishes that traditionally, historically belong to Russian cuisine. We didn't know how many dishes there would be, and we didn't limit our restaurateurs, historians, and chefs. As a result, it was determined that there would be about 260 dishes. Today, 133 recipes have already been agreed, that is, more than half. We are currently working very actively," he told RIA Novosti.

Chekushov added that the creation of a national gastronomic brand will be completed in the "foreseeable future," and the key role of the state will be to promote it both on the domestic market and outside the country.

In addition, a representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade spoke about the parallel development of a standard for the rules of laying out domestic beer in retail outlets, which is designed to support Russian producers. The Ministry also continues to form a separate GOST for the ready-to-eat segment.
