More than 25 thousand whitefish and trout fry were released into Lake Kandas in the Murmansk region. The reservoir will be inaccessible for two weeks.

The "Living Wave" campaign was held by Kovdorsky Mining and Processing Plant. Before releasing the fry, the volunteers walked along the shore and collected the garbage, which turned out to be few. According to the Bi-port news agency, the required number of juveniles was determined by specialists of the Knipovich VNIRO Polar Branch. They assess the condition of the lake, the food supply and the conditions for further fish growth.

The Murmansk branch of Glavrybvoda is engaged in the cultivation and delivery of fry. After the release of the fry, visits to the lake were limited. During the period of survival of juveniles, it is necessary to exclude any unnecessary interference in the biosystem.

In May, 70,000 Siberian sturgeon fry were released into the Charu River in the Trans-Baikal Territory. The work was carried out as part of the bioresource restoration program.
