The assault units of the 39th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 68th Army Corps of the Vostok group told the details of the liberation of the village of Lesnoye in the Zaporizhia region. The relevant footage is published by the Russian Defense Ministry on July 6.

"A very good additional exploration was carried out. The stormtroopers were moving and seeping through the enemy's battle formations... The effect of surprise: he waits for them in front, and they come to him from behind," said the platoon commander with the call sign Tom.

During the fighting, a platoon of personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, eight armored vehicles, 11 units of automotive equipment, six ground-based robotic complexes and 27 Baba-Yaga UAVs were destroyed.

The liberation of Lesnoy allowed the units to gain a foothold on a new frontier and disrupt the stability of the enemy's defenses, creating conditions for further actions in the Danilovka area and advancing towards Timoshovka.

"There are times when the approach paths are mined. <...> We enter carefully, but it is advisable to jump into the support area as soon as possible so as not to stand on the surface. Accordingly, when we enter, we divide: either the two goes, or the four goes. We keep everything in touch at all times," said the platoon commander with the call sign Agat.

The settlements of Rovnoye and Lesnoye in the Zaporizhia region, as well as Malinovka in the Donetsk People's Republic, were liberated on June 30. In addition, units of the Vostok group of forces defeated Ukrainian formations in the areas of the settlements of Velikomikhailovka, Gavrilovka, Novoukrainka, Novoye Pole, Lyubitskoye and Timoshevka. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost over 455 soldiers, three armored fighting vehicles and 10 vehicles.
