The decision of the Disciplinary Committee of the International Football Federation (FIFA) to suspend the disqualification of striker Folarin Balogan is fair. This was announced on July 5 by the head coach of the U.S. national team, Mauricio Pochettino.

"My reaction is the same as everyone else's. I love this sport and trust its ethical integrity. We welcome this decision. <...> 99.9% of people agree that it was an unfair red card," Pochettino said, as quoted by journalist Ben Jacobs on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

On July 5, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee decided to suspend Balogan's automatic one-match suspension. The forward, who scored three goals in the current World Cup, received a red card in the 64th minute of the match against Bosnia and Herzegovina, which ended with a 2-0 victory for the Americans.
