In addition, assistance was provided to 86,794 families, 17,345 citizens were left homeless. As a result of the disaster, 190 buildings were destroyed, and 856 more were damaged.

According to Rodriguez, more than 29,000 personnel and more than 27,000 volunteers, as well as 4,088 international rescuers, have been involved in the aftermath. 9585 tons of food and more than 669 thousand liters of water were distributed to the victims. 23,820 patients received medical care. 79 temporary camps have been set up to accommodate people left homeless.

Why the restoration of the republic may take many years

The earthquakes in Venezuela occurred on June 24. The epicenter was located 60 km northwest of the city of Valencia, as well as 28 km northeast of San Felipe. The earthquake was the strongest in the country since 1900.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on June 25 that Russia was considering the possibility of providing humanitarian assistance to Venezuela. The European Union, in turn, allocated €5 million for emergency assistance to the republic.

On July 4, Rodriguez announced that the number of victims in the earthquakes in Venezuela had increased to 2,954. It was noted that 16,309 citizens were injured.
