The media reported that hackers hacked 80 thousand computers of the British government

Hackers broke into about 80,000 computers of the British government and the Foreign Ministry, stole the data and put it up for sale. This was reported on July 5 by The Telegraph newspaper.

"Hackers have penetrated the electronic mailboxes of British government officials and foreign employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs <...> On darknet forums, access to these accounts is sold for up to $60 thousand," the publication says.

It is clarified that during the attack, the criminals used previously stolen information to hack Fortinet firewalls. Hacked email addresses and passwords, as the newspaper notes, open access to key government IT systems.

The compromised organizations include the Embassies of the United Kingdom in Thailand and Mauritius, the municipalities of Derbyshire and the London borough of Waltham Forest, as well as the National Health Service, as well as drug suppliers and energy companies.
