The underground called the number of mercenaries in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

There are about 16,500 foreign mercenaries in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), the majority of whom are in Latin America. This was reported on July 5 in the pro-Russian underground.

"According to our data, about 16.5 thousand foreigners are fighting in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Western mercenaries — the British, Germans, Canadians, and Americans —began fleeing en masse at the end of last year. Their replacement came from another continent. Now the majority are from Latin America: Colombians, Mexicans, Salvadorans, and Venezuelans," the source told TASS.

He noted that there are especially many mercenaries from Latin America operating in the Kherson and Zaporizhia directions. According to the underground, the number of Colombian mercenaries in the Armed Forces of Ukraine exceeds 7 thousand people, which is almost half of the foreign contingent.

According to the source, European and American mercenaries have higher requirements and costs, while immigrants from Latin America are allegedly much cheaper. He also noted that, according to his information, the latter are more often sent to assault units and to the most dangerous areas.

People from the region are a more reliable resource for Kiev than the mobilized fleeing the battlefield.

The Brazilian TV channel TV Globo reported on June 24 that Brazilian citizen Eric Ferreira Soares found himself on the front line of the Armed Forces of Ukraine after he was promised service in the rear and safe work. The Brazilian also asked his family to forgive him for his decision to return to "hell" in Ukraine after his stay in Brazil.
