- The Norwegian Ministry of Defense denied information about the promise to supply missiles to Kiev.
Oslo did not promise to supply missiles to Kiev and finance their purchase, but only expressed its willingness to do so. This was announced on July 2 by Deputy Minister of Defense of Norway Andreas Flom.
"It is not true, as VG writes, that Norway has committed itself to the supply and payment of missiles," he said in a comment for the VG newspaper, reacting to the publication of the publication.
It is noted that the text of the newspaper stated that Norway had committed itself to financing the purchase of 200 missiles for Ukraine, which, according to Kiev, were never delivered. According to the official, the Norwegian side only expressed its willingness to pay for air defense missiles if the Ukrainian side could find an opportunity to purchase them. At the same time, he stressed that due to the global shortage of modern air defense systems, it is difficult to make such purchases.
On July 2, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky accused Western states of failing to fulfill their obligations to supply missiles to the country. It was noted that the Norwegian authorities declared their readiness to pay for 200 missiles, but so far none of them have been delivered.
Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev said on June 23 that the country had exhausted its ability to provide Ukraine with military or financial support beyond the already agreed terms. It was noted that the termination of the transfer of property from the disposal of the Bulgarian army does not mean a complete cessation of aid to Kiev.
